Chief Executive Officer, Intrinsic
Wendy is the CEO of Intrinsic a robotics software and A.I. moonshot from X, Alphabet’s moonshot factory. Intrinsic aims to unlock the creative and economic potential of industrial robotics for businesses, entrepreneurs and developers by making industrial robots easier to use and train. Intrinsic became an Alphabet “Other Bet” in July 2021.
Prior to becoming Intrinsic’s CEO, Wendy was a Vice President at X where she coached a variety of teams and leaders on how to chart their path to the moon. Some of the projects Wendy mentored include Mineral, which is developing new tools to grow nutritious food more sustainably and Tidal which is exploring new ways to protect our oceans while feeding humanity sustainably.
A long time technology innovator, entrepreneur and investor, Wendy was a Partner at BGF Ventures and a General Partner at Entrepreneur First before joining X. She also co-founded and was CEO, Moonfruit, the world’s first SAAS website builder. She also helped launch Zopa.com, the first European peer to peer lending site, and Egg.com, the UK's first internet bank. Wendy is a member of the UK Digital Economic Council, a member of World Economic Forum’s 2030 Vision Technology Leaders Group, Board Trustee for The Alan Turing Institute and the Imperial College, Dyson School of Design Engineering board. In 2016, Wendy was awarded an MBE for services to technology and business by the Queen.
