Karen Roter-Davis
Moonshot Elevator, early stage projects
Karen joined X in 2017 and works on early stage projects, helping moonshot technologies make the transition to successful businesses. Prior to X, Karen was Managing Director of GE Ventures, Software & Analytics, where she kick-started partnerships, acquisition and investment strategies to advance GE's Industrial Internet capabilities across its multi-billion dollar industrial businesses. Karen is passionate about starting, building and growing new businesses and has held leadership roles at several startups with successful exits, including Urban Engines, which prompted Karen's return to Alphabet. She has a long history at Alphabet – she joined Google in 2003 and led a range of early stage teams as well as internal operations for Google’s IPO in 2004. Karen holds an MBA/JD from Northwestern University and a B.A. in Public and International Affairs from Princeton. She is an Industrial Advisor to EQT, a Stockholm-based global private equity firm, and serves on the Board of Innovyze, a leading global wet infrastructure software solutions provider.
