About the team:
Tapestry, is X’s moonshot for the electric grid. We are a team of software engineers, power systems experts and clean energy geeks who are impatient to tackle climate change head on through our energy system. Responsibilities
We are seeking a talented utility scale power electronics expert to help us expand our orchestration/control capability. As a utility scale power electronics expert you will...
- Develop algorithms and codes for electric system control and orchestration.
- Design and simulate novel control/orchestration concepts, from prototyping through implementation.
What you should have:
- Graduate students currently pursuing a PhD in a STEM field (such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field) with a strong interest in power electronics.
- Experienced in Power Electronics: Topologies, Controls, Magnetics, Thermals, Devices including WBG devices.
- Interest, preferably passion, for decarbonization of the global economy via increased electrification.
- Some familiarity with grid-forming, grid-following, and microgrid controls.
It’d be great if you also had these:
- Have knowledge of the modern control systems.
- Have knowledge of the network and communication protocols.
- Have familiarity with hardware and processor architectures.

The US base salary range for this position is $109,000 - $145,000 + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process.
