About the role:
As a software engineer with a specialization in 3D design and structures, you’ll work collaboratively to implement new functionality, build pipelines/infrastructure and deploy applications for customers throughout the real estate development and AEC industries. Building on the team's cutting edge computational tools, which use advanced machine learning and AI to transform the way developers conceptualize, design and execute new projects, your software will be a key factor in scaling our product and business in this rapidly growing market. You’ll use your experience in 3D design and structures to help bridge the gap between artificial intelligence and architectural engineering.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Work closely with AI engineers and computational designers to implement algorithms, heuristics, and frameworks to translate architectural engineering concepts into code
- Rapidly prototype and productionize new software features
- Acquire domain knowledge and proactively identify ways to accelerate the team via software
- Contribute significantly to back-end development (cloud platform development, ML infrastructure, data engineering, etc.)
- Contribute to developing a strong engineering culture in an early-stage team, balancing agility and rapid execution with quality and long-term sustainability of the codebase
What you should have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience
- Experience in software development for 3D structural/design data, such as CAD, IFC or similar
- Ability to operate effectively and independently without detailed requirements and specifications
- At least 3 years of industry experience in software engineering, including experience with multiple general-purpose programming languages and industry best practices such as version control, code reviews, unit and integration testing, and continuous integration
- Exceptional communication skills, and background working directly with domain experts and end users to develop and clarify product needs and feature requirements
It’d be great if you also had these:
- Experience in a technical role in one or more GIS, real estate, or AEC fields
- Backend/Infra experience: cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform preferred) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform)
- Previous startup experience (i.e. you know how to build, test and learn quickly)
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $148,000 - $227,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
