How you will make 10x impact:
This project aims to push the limits of science and modeling as we know them and to prove how ML can radically accelerate our understanding of the world
- Location: X's headquarters in Mountain View, CA
- Start Date(s): Year-round rolling basis
- Duration: a flexible 4 mo. to 1 year program based on project team needs and your availability

WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON:
- Collaborating with the X project team to experiment and build novel insights to relevant to supply chain and logistics
- Rapidly develop prototypes to evaluate feasibility of various approaches; dispassionately assess performance and help team scope next steps
- Apply, modify, and develop AI technology
- Develop tools and interfaces for large-scale data processing, user interaction, and evaluation
- Work cross-functionally with experts at X, from Alphabet, and academia
- Engage with the Internship community during the program (learning Moonshot thinking, attending colloquium and tech talks) & having fun!
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled in a Masters or PhD program related to Supply Chain Optimization, Physics, Mathematics, Computer science, or similar
- A fast learner with strong coding skills in Java/Python or equivalent
- Passionate about creating unique operational insights
- Experience developing Applied Machine Learning algorithms
- Ability to work in a small, rapid prototyping team environment and able to embrace uncertainty and fluidity
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in a startup/research environment
- Familiarity with large-scale data processing
- Aptitude in TensorFlow or Jax
- Open-source projects and contributions that demonstrate strong coding skills
The US base salary range for this role is between $96,000 - $113,000 + benefits. Your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
