DURING YOUR INTERNSHIP YOU CAN EXPECT:

- Location: X's headquarters in Mountain View, CA
- Start Date(s): Year-round rolling basis
- Duration: a flexible 4 mo. to 1 year program based on project team needs and your availability
- Must be enrolled in an academic program and working towards completing a PhD degree
WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON:
- You will collaborate with physicists, mathematicians, and chip designers applying large-scale simulation and optimization techniques to produce novel chip designs. Your responsibilities include one or more of the following:
- Develop a fast, approximate lithography simulation that interfaces well with optimizers, including optical, photoresist, and etch models.
- Work with an accurate reference simulation and foundry data for model calibration, comparison, and refinement.
- Accelerate, scale, and deploy code on large distributed systems.
- Learn about the Moonshot Factory, attend colloquiums and tech talks
- Engage with the internship community and have fun!
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program.
- Working understanding of physical optics and lithographic processes.
- Experience programming in Python.
- Experience developing algorithms related to optics or lithography.
- Experience using commercial tools for lithography simulation, OPC, or TCAD.
- Experience using numerical computing libraries such as JAX, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Experience developing for distributed systems such as high-performance computing clusters or cloud environments.
- Experience with the tapeout and testing of a custom chip
- Demonstration of relevant skills in scientific journal publications, conference submissions, open source projects or similar.
