DETAILS:

REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be enrolled in an academic program and working towards completing a PhD degree
WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON:
This internship project seeks highly-motivated, flexible individuals who enjoy working in a small, dynamic interdisciplinary team environment and have a passion for solving challenging problems that can lead to high-impact advances in technology. In this role you will join our simulation team to develop and improve state-of-the-art simulation techniques, leveraging Google's experimentation and production infrastructure.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently pursuing a PhD in physics, engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related field
- Solid Python coding experience with an emphasis on software development best practices including code organization, testing, and readability
- Comfortable with the Python numerical and scientific computing stack (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, etc.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience using or developing computational electromagnetic algorithms (e.g. FDTD, FDFD, FEM, RCWA) or simulators and numerical methods in other domains (CFD, acoustics, etc.)
- Exposure to differentiable programming (e.g. JAX)
- Past work involving mesh generation and domain decomposition for FEM
