People Products: Program Manager and Change Management Lead

People Operations

Mountain View, CA

X is the moonshot factory within Alphabet, where uncomfortably ambitious, world-changing new ideas such as self-driving cars and Internet from balloons are developed and taken into the world. X projects have the potential to transform the lives of billions of people and make the world a better place. As the X People Products team, it’s our mission to Attract, Accelerate, and Launch these moonshots into the real world. We’re small, we’re scrappy, and things move quickly, thus, every Xer plays a critical role in the success of these moonshots; we’re all in this together!

The X People Products team is looking for a Program Manager and Change Management lead who is a champion of X’s unique culture, understands what it takes to bring visions to real world applications and will own the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of all People Products at X. We are a small team, so you will have end-to-end exposure of what it takes to run a People Operations function at a company that moves at lightspeed and you’ll have the autonomy to make decisions that accelerate the business.

If you’re the ideal candidate, you’re able to connect the details of your work with the company strategy and swiftly move between these elevations. You’ve mastered change management and can quickly distill facts from noise to help drive progress and innovation. You thrive in an organization that rapidly iterates and are known to be scrappy and resourceful, creative and driven -- and you’re excited to share in the magic of working at X.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 4+ years of work experience in, or supporting, HR
  • Experience in driving multiple large-scale programs, building roadmaps, communicating across all levels of the organization, and navigating/influencing cross-functional teams
  • Proven program management skills with a bias for action and strong execution
  • Comfort with sensitive data and demonstrated ability to keep information confidential

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to drive the full gamut of program management, from creating a high level roadmap through the executing on the line-by-line detail of a company-wide program, to herding the cats along the way
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy
  • High level of self-initiative, creativity, perseverance and flexibility

Responsibilities:

  • Discover, design, execute, and iterate on any one (or multiple) of our core People Products in support of all People functions (Leadership & Organization Development, Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and Compensation), while designing and iterating on a future product that truly unlocks the potential of Xers
  • Lead change management efforts for all People Products
  • Flawlessly manage and optimize our People Products and processes with an eye for unlocking potential

At X, we don't just accept difference - we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our employees, our products and our community. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status.
