Frontend Engineer, Robotics
We’re a group of roboticists, designers, hardware and software engineers with the mission to revolutionize the way the world makes everything. We believe there are many manufacturing tasks made easier, faster and safer by a judicious combination of robots, intelligent software systems, and intuitive human interfaces. We are looking for talented engineers to help us explore these possibilities, develop breakthrough technologies, and deploy new products that could help millions of people.
As a frontend engineer you are excited about building human-robot interfaces for performing useful tasks in real environments. You will develop a visually-rich graphical user interface that effectively visualizes robots’ state and provides high-level, user-friendly commands that can produce complex interactions with hardware and software. Building this interface will require understanding (and influencing) our end-to-end tech. stack and the role of the human in it. While we have a lot of previous work to be inspired by, we are taking an ambitious (yet practical) approach and need creative and talented engineers to own key parts of our frontend.
You are passionate about building intuitive yet powerful human-facing tools, have excellent development skills across the stack (including frontend and web application development), and are excited to be part of a world-class, innovative frontend team.
Design intuitive interfaces or toolkits for non-roboticist/non-software-engineering end-users to author, configure, and operate automated processes
Build human-facing interfaces for design, debugging, and operation of automated workcells
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
2 years experience in developing human-facing tools or frontends
Preferred Qualifications (must-have at least one):
Experience working with 3D graphical environments and geometry processing
Experience with web application development
Experience with mobile application frameworks
