“Don’t just go live your life. Go create it.”
Astro Teller encourages RIT's Class of 2025 to embrace a mindset of optimism, excitement, humility, and curiosity
In his keynote address for Rochester Institute of Technology’s Academic Convocation, Astro encouraged graduates to embrace the spirit of "The Fool" from tarot—representing the essence of potential and being open to the unknown. He challenged graduates to reject the fear of appearing foolish, which stifles creativity, and adopt an attitude of learning-centered curiosity.
Highlighting his own story of replacing achievement-focused expectations with a passion for learning and discovery, Astro emphasized the benefits of approaching life with optimism, excitement, and humility. He shared his belief in the power of your mindset to shape your life’s journey, and why “getting your mindset right is the hardest and most rewarding thing you will ever do, and it takes a lifetime to get right.”
